“For the first time, someone took my symptoms seriously.”
Program: Women's Health
I had been struggling with sleep disruption, mood changes, and a general sense that something was off for about two years. My primary care doctor told me my labs were normal. My gynecologist told me I was probably just stressed. Neither of them ordered a proper workup, and neither of them talked to me about the current evidence on hormone therapy in women.
When I came here, the first visit was a conversation. The physician actually asked what I was experiencing and mapped it against what the workup would need to look at. We ran a comprehensive panel, discussed what the options were, and — importantly — talked about the risks and benefits honestly, including what the outdated Women’s Health Initiative interpretation got wrong.
I’m now on a plan that addresses my symptoms. What I got here that I didn’t get elsewhere was current information, careful listening, and a physician who was willing to have the real conversation.
