CARDIOVASCULAR
High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein
Also known as hs-CRP
What it is
hs-CRP is a marker of low-grade systemic inflammation. It is more sensitive than standard CRP for cardiovascular applications.
Why it matters
Persistent elevation in hs-CRP correlates with cardiovascular events, metabolic disease, and all-cause mortality. It is a useful cross-domain marker.
Range GPLX watches for
GPLX watches for hs-CRP below 1.0 mg/L in symptomatic patients. Values above 3.0 mg/L suggest elevated inflammation.
This educational range is not a personal diagnostic threshold. Your physician interprets your result in context of your full biomarker panel, medications, symptoms, and history.
What abnormal values can suggest
If low
A low hs-CRP value suggests low systemic inflammation and is generally favorable.
If high
A high hs-CRP value can suggest active infection, chronic inflammatory disease, obesity, or elevated cardiovascular risk.
