What it is
The full sex hormone panel is a comprehensive set of tests that measures total and free testosterone, sensitive estradiol, SHBG, LH, FSH, DHEA-sulfate, progesterone, and prolactin — together, the endocrine picture that shapes libido, mood, energy, and fertility.
Why it matters
Sex hormones do not act in isolation. Total testosterone can look normal while free testosterone is low because SHBG is high. Estradiol can be misread without the sensitive assay. LH and FSH tell your physician whether the problem sits at the testes/ovaries or at the pituitary. Only a full panel supports a real protocol.

What abnormal values can suggest
If low

If high
Elevated panel patterns can suggest exogenous hormone use, adrenal hyperactivity, PCOS in women, or, rarely, pituitary or gonadal pathology. Interpretation requires the full panel plus history.
