CARDIOVASCULAR

Apolipoprotein B

Also known as ApoB

What it is

ApoB is a protein found on every atherogenic (plaque-forming) lipoprotein particle. Measuring ApoB counts these particles directly.

Why it matters

ApoB is one of the strongest single markers of cardiovascular risk — often more informative than LDL-C alone. GPLX considers it a core longevity marker.

Range GPLX watches for

GPLX generally targets ApoB below 80 mg/dL in symptomatic patients, and lower in those at higher cardiovascular risk. Your physician interprets against your full risk picture.

This educational range is not a personal diagnostic threshold. Your physician interprets your result in context of your full biomarker panel, medications, symptoms, and history.

What abnormal values can suggest

If low

A low ApoB value suggests a low number of atherogenic particles and is generally favorable.

If high

A high ApoB value suggests elevated atherogenic particle number and cardiovascular risk, regardless of LDL-C.
